KAMLOOPS — Add another medal to Kamloops-trained hammer thrower Ethan Katzberg’s haul, as he continues to dominate the sport at the age of 23.

He won his fifth straight event in the world athletics circuit on Wednesday (June 11) with a throw of 80.19 metres at a competition in Oslo, Norway.

Katzberg, who was born in Naniamo but trains at the Kamloops Track and Field Club, was the only athlete in the field of seven to surpass 80 metres at this year’s Bislett Games, which is part of the Diamond League. He did so in the third of his six attempts.

Ukraine’s Mykhaylo Kokhan was second with a throw of 78.95 metres while Norway’s Thomas Mardal was third with a personal best time of 78.25 metres.
